This event remembers Members of our Community who have passed away in the last 12 months. All the deceased names have been entered in our Memorial Book.  Grace will read the names from the Memorial Book and they will be remembered for all the days to come. Our list includes Sacred Heart Sisters, Past Pupils and Family Members of Past Pupils.  Join with us and remember -

Entrance Hymn:    Inis Oir

Welcome:     Rosalie Crimmins

Good morning, a very warm welcome to everyone and thank you for taking the time to join our Sacred Heart Remembrance Service. My name is Rosie Crimmins (Nee Mc Cambridge) and I am the new Chairperson of the Sacred Heart Past Pupils Benevolen Fund.
Every November, we arrange a mass in Mt Anville’s  school chapel to remember those in our community who have passed away and most especially those who have left us in the past 12 months. We invite all family members and friends to attend our Mass of Remembrance and then to join us afterwards for tea and coffee in the Atrium. Here, we have an opportunity to catch up with each other, to reconnect and share in the stories and memories that bind us all as a community.

This year, we have had to do it differently. Covid has meant separation for all of us, isolation for many and terrible loneliness for others. It has been especially hard for bereaved families this year, as our traditional rituals have been taken away from us. We hope this Remembrance Service will help in some small way to support and comfort those who have lost their loved ones. This short service will be available on our website for everyone to access so please do not hesitate to share this with family members and friends.

We hope to be back in Mt Anville Chapel next year where we can come together in person and share in our loss. You are all most welcome to join us next year and we encourage you to engage in our Sacred Heart community where we can support and take comfort from each other.  But today, we remember all those who have passed away in the last year:  We remember all our Religious Sisters of the Sacred Heart, who dedicated their lives to God. Today, we remember all our Sacred Heart past pupils: from Mt Anville, Leeson St, Roscrea and Monkstown and Armagh.  And today we remember the family members of our Sacred Heart Community.

May they Rest in Peace with God

Reading:     Sr. Mary Shiel

Do not let your  hearts be troubled.

Trust in God still, and trust in me.

There are many rooms in my Father’s house; if there were not, I should have told you.  I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I am gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too.

Hymn:    Jesus Remember Me: Taize

Prayers of the Faithful:  Read by  Shiena Connolly

-    We remember all who have died. May they enjoy the promise of eternal happiness.
Lord hear us.

-    For all who mourn today. That they will receive strength to assist them in their sadness and grief. May their tears be wiped away and their mourning turned into joy.
Lord hear us.

-    For those who cared for our loved ones. We give thanks for their skills and commitment.  May they be rewarded for their gentleness and care.
Lord hear us.

-    Lord, please bless all who have supported the Sacred Heart Benevolent Fund over the years. We pray that you will continue to guide our work with those in need.
Lord hear us.

Reflection:     Luci ODonohoe

Inis Oir, Traditional

You can shed tears because they are gone, or you can smile because they lived.
You can close your eyes and pray they will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that they left for you.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see them, or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember only that they are gone, or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind and feel empty, or you can do what they would want.
Smile, Open your heart, Love and go on.
